Tim McDonald has 9 albums including 5 Country albums, Lucky You, May I Live In Your World, Tim's Dems, Livin' Breathin' Havin' Fun,  and Life Worth Livin.  The multi-genre,  multi-talented Tim McDonald now announces his 10th album  release, suitably called "10" and scheduled for release on September 1st, 2021.    “10”  will include  some great  new originals and a few favorite covers.  McDonald's  released single “WE ALL WILL RISE”  from the upcoming "10" continues to draw attention on radio.  

At the young age of five, Tim McDonald embarked on a musical journey that throughout time has granted him countless opportunities to recognize and perfect his talents within. After starting formal piano lessons his natural music abilities were quickly recognized. By age nine, he was a member of the distinguished Classical Guild Society. He continued classical training throughout his teen years.

Tim attended college at Montreat Anderson on a soccer scholarship where he studied music theory and taught himself other genres of music such as Jazz, Blues, Funk and Alternative. Subsequently, Tim left college and enlisted in the US Army where he joined the Army Band following a successful piano audition. Graduating with honors, Tim attended the Armed Forces School of Music. During his tenure in the US Army, Tim continued to focus on his music. At each place he was stationed, he took complete advantage of every learning occasion.

 

While in the army he studied with and was mentored by legendary artists and teachers Dan Haerle, Frank Mantooth, Curtis Fuller, Clyde Kerr, Todd Coolman, Dave Mancini, Byron Berline etc..   He performed with many local and international acts as well as with the Virginia Symphony, The Harry James Big Band, Jae Sinnett Trio.  Tim had the distinct opportunity to perform with the three tenors and to perform and record with Count Basie Big Band leader Douglas Miller.  Tim also performed in two New York Broadway musicals,  Aida, and The Producers.  Later, Tim was assigned to teach piano at the Armed Forces School of Music in Va. Beach, Virginia.  

 

After ten years of honorable service,  Tim McDonald  left the Army honorably as a Staff Sergeant,  and moved to Nashville, TN to further his music career.  He has performed with many local bands, played as a session artist, and commenced a focused effort as a singer/ songwriter and pianist.   Tim is currently touring the world with his Country and Jazz bands and literally "Bringing his music to the people".

 

When he is not touring with his band he is performing with legendary rock guitarist Rick Derringer.  Country music has welcomed this brilliant artist and Tim has  toured with  Blake Shelton, Hank Williams Jr, Olivia Newton-John, Pam Tillis, Mark Chesnutt, Johnny Hiland, Cory Morrow, Byron Berline, The Shotgun Red Show, Josh Gracin, Buddy Jewell and Steve Holy.   He has performed at some of the most prestigious stages around the world including The Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium and The Sydney Opera House.

 

Additionally Tim has also had the honor to perform with guitar studio legend and artist Larry Carlton and keyboardist in the Lil' Walter House Band during the NAMM show.  Tim can also be seen on the big screen in 4 seasons of the ABC series "Nashville" as keyboardist for Luke Wheeler, Every Other Holiday as a choir pianist, and Patsy and Loretta Forever as Pianist for Loretta Lynn.   Tim's original songs are also included in Jerry Seinfeld's comedians in cars getting coffee and several movies including "A Perfect Fit".

 

Tim also toured in a very intimate way with his "Bring It To The People Tour".   The tour took place in  New England in a series of house concerts.  Country music fans hosted  Tim in their homes and invited friends to attend an intimate, up close and personal evening of music. "I've played sold out arenas and theaters around the world, but nothing compares to the connection of a room full of music fans sitting a few feet from you, soaking up every note, every word – it's one of the most memorable concert experiences you'll ever have", said McDonald.
 

McDonald has garnered many award nominations including International Singer-Songwriter Association for six awards and was a finalist for four of the six including (1) Song of the Year – “We All Will Rise”, (2) Male Songwriter of the Year, (3) US Music Video of the Year – “We All  Will Rise”, and (4) US Male Emerging Artist of the Year.   

 

Also in the Tennessee Music Awards  Tim was nominated for 12 of 29 categories for the upcoming Tennessee Music  Awards including,  Lifetime Achievement, Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Bluegrass Artist of the Year, Inspirational Artist of the Year, Country Artist of the Year, Rock Artist of  the Year, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Producer of the year, Songwriter of the Year. Nominated artists will be  announced along with voting information and a link to vote! TOGETHER WE CAN VOTE TIM right into the second round where the TMA judges will select three finalists in each category from all nominees. The official TMA winners will be announced during October 2021, TBD,  at the University of Memphis in Lambuth, Memphis, TN.
