Singer/songwriter Elyse Saunders, is a 4 x CMA Ontario nominated country recording artist who is making waves throughout Canada, Nashville and beyond.  Saunders dropped her  EP,  “Free”   in October 2021 and with her most recent single release from her EP, “Genes”, Elyse is poised to take her next bold step forward in what has been a prosperous and exciting musical career.

“Genes” is all about coming together, no matter what race, gender, or place you come from and celebrating.  The song shares this message in a light and almost ambiguous way that will invite fans to peel away new layers of the song every time they listen to it.  The video captures the fun, upbeat, and diverse nature of the song and Elyse hopes that everyone who discovers it,  especially her Country music friends,  will be inspired to bring more diversity to the genre overall.

“Genes” has been receiving rave reviews after receiving radio play in the US and Australia with support by CBC’s Toyota Searchlight. A song about celebrating people for who they are, the music video for “Genes” has also reached many with featured placement on CMT Nashville and regular rotation on CMT Australia. 


 Elyse Saunders and is a country recording artist, singer/songwriter currently based out of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Her new EP called "Free" that came out this past fall and Elyse enjoys creating music that’s inclusive and positive.  Saunders first song released off the EP was the title track "Free"  and represented her current sound and path as an artist and resonated with people. Since then Saunders has released more singles from the EP, her newest is “Genes”.  

Country music has always felt like home for Elyse Saunders.   Whether it was the dynamic stages of Toronto to the bright lights of Nashville, the Peterborough, Ontario native has followed a path of steadfast determination and artistic inspiration, captivating crowds with her powerhouse vocals, engaging live shows with personality  and interactive charm.

Elyse attributes her drive for Country music to her early ties in Nashville, Tennessee.  Saunders discovered a passion for music early on when she met her first mentor, noted producer/songwriter Cyril Rawson (Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson), with whom she recorded her debut album in Nashville before releasing a string of Canadian country radio singles, and showcasing as an opener for ACM artist Deric Ruttan in front of 10,000 fans.

This dynamic stage experience has led to over 350 shows with industry showcases like Canadian Country Music Week, Indie Week, and 2019’s Canadian Music Week with Nice Horse, Kira Isabella, & David James. Elyse also rocked 2019’s Powassan’s Smoke ‘N’ Spurs ahead of Eric Ethridge and The Washboard Union, and opened for Terri Clark and Jason Aldean at Sunfest.

A series of Nashville songwriting trips led to new recordings with acclaimed BC producers Dan Swinimer (Sacha), Paul Shatto (Jetty Road), and David Wills (The Higgins). In 2020, Elyse released  her single “Free”, an anthemic summer smash highlighted by CBC Country/Sirius XM rotation. The single earned over 500K Apple Music streams, won Song and Video of the Year at the Mississauga Music Awards. The video remains on regular rotation on Stingray Country TV.

The 2020 winter ballad “Wine Down”,  written by Elyse in Nashville with Joey Green (“The Voice”), highlighted her songwriting abilities and stunning vocals. Along with over 125K Spotify streams, it earned the #1 spot on Amazon’s Breakthrough Country playlist and top-lined “Wine Down with Elyse Saunders”, a digital fully produced concert.  Elyse performed “Wine Down” on “Today in Nashville”, and it was also a Top 100 pick by American Songwriter.  The 2021 single, “Sunshine State of Mind” became one of the year’s Top 50 This accompanied Elyse’s finalist spot in the Boots & Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase. 


Saunders'  early influences are listed as  Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, LeeAnn Rimes, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash.   While her ongoing influences can change she really loves what Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, Caylee Hammack, and Tenille Townes citing not only the they’re creating but also how they touch people with their music.


Saunders, who is brings her music from the stages of Toronto Ontario Canada to the music capital of the
United States, Nashville,  has seen some major accomplishments in her music journey.  Saunders is an artist that keeps her music close to her heart and she prides herself on her determination  to press on.
